How do I make a few dollars?
You either:
-
Put ads on your website
(if you have one); or
-
Put ads in your emails.
What does it cost?
It is free. But you can get rebates on
things you were going to buy anyway.
How much can I earn?
Usually you receive 10% of the sale. However, programs range from around
2% to around 40%. Sometimes you receive a flat fee, such as $15.00. So, if
you sell some DVDs or software for $100, you could get $10 on a 10% commission,
or a flat $15.00. You decide whether it's worth it to put a certain ad on
your website or in your email.
Why is this also like
getting free rebates for your internet purchases? You'll
earn a commission when you buy things for yourself or your friends or
family. So, if you buy something you were going to
buy anyway, you should first sign up as an advertiser, and buy through your
own ad. That way you get a rebate.
How do I get paid?
There are several ways:
-
Commission
Junction consolidates
your commisions and pays you whenever you reach $25.00. This is the best because you get paid
sooner.
-
LinkShare
pays you when you earn $25.00 from a
particular company with which you've signed up.

How many companies
participate?
Thousands. Everything from gambling and porn to gardening and Christian
gifts. Why are you giving me this
information?
The links are ads for me. If you sign up through
my links I have provided
below, I will receive a dollar or two. You can put similar ads on YOUR
website, or through YOUR email.
This sounds great. How do I
sign up?
At each of the websites described below:
-
Find the signup link to be an
advertiser. It may say "affiliate," just a fancy word for the same
thing..
-
Fill in your name,
address, etc.
-
Apply to be an affiliate of
various companies (pay attention to how much they pay!)
-
Copy the html code into your
website.
-
Advertise your website on Worldwide
Promoter and elsewhere.
TIP: As you sign up for each company, decline to receive email
from them. Some companies, such as Hanes, send out a lot of ads to YOU
once you sign up.

Commission
Junction
is my far and away favorite for many reasons:
(A) They add all your commissions together and pay you whenever you
reach a little over $25.00. (in other words, if you make $10 from one
company, $5.00 from another, and $12 from a third, they'll send you a
check).
(B) They have well over 2000 companies.
(C) It's easy to make code open in a separate window (so that
visitors do not leave your website while checking out a link).
(D) You can run a vast variety of reports, and the reports run
really fast.
(E) If you write to them with a question, they write back to you
within hours.
(F) You can easily search for links for advertisers or for
individual products.
-
LinkShare
(A) They have hundreds of companies,
including many well known ones, such as Nordstrom Rack.
(B) Their reporting is slow and difficult to use.
(C) You only get paid when you reach each individual company's minimum
amount.
(D) They do not reply to correspondence.
(E) They provide instructions for you to make your links open in
another window, but do not set up the code for you, like Commission Junction
does.
(F) They have innumerable product links available, but it is very
difficult to sort through them for selection.
-
Shareasale
They seem all right, but I don't know anything about them.

Conigen

site that you can link to from your regular website, or just advertise
through email. Receive 6 - 10% commission, and 10% commission for
signing up other people. I bought cheap long distance service.
-
Outsource Outsource
pays great commissions!
